Thomas Pickering
Thomas Pickering is a Lecturer in the Writing, Rhetoric and Professional Communication Program. He holds a Ph.D in rhetoric and composition from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. His teaching and research lies in intellectual property, writing practices in the computing professions, and technical and professional communication broadly. He has taught writing in computer science, engineering, mathematics, and technical writing programs. His published work studies political economies of writing amidst changing technological environments, including Web 2.0, the era of "big data," and generative language models.
